River City/Bike Law Team Racks Up Another Victory!

May 4, 2019.

The team showed up with engines revved in close-to-full attendance for the Montinore Road Race, blessed with near-perfect racing conditions as temps pushed up into the 70’s. The race was 10 laps of 10 kilometers with a 3-minute climb to the finish each lap.

We got to work immediately with the slick-easy-rider Timmy Reinhart blasting off the front, joined by one other rider. Working together they maintained a decent gap for the first 30k, before a hard effort by our own Mr. Jeremy Russel on the climb set off fireworks in the field, simultaneously catching the breakaway.

Jeremy Russel, Colin Gibson, and Dan Lincoln, before Dan took off and went solo.

From that point on it was a race of attrition. The field split into two groups of around ten riders each, with Dan, Jeremy, and Colin up front. The final nail in the coffin came with around 25k to go when 39-year-old phenom Dan Lincoln took off like a freight train, alone. Dan time trialed into a lead of over 2 minutes, with Colin sitting on a group of three behind, and Jeremy in another group of three 1 minute behind Colin. The race was basically set at that point.

Dan came up to the finish line to win solo with an impressive gap, while Colin rounded out the podium in 3rd place, and Jeremy sprinted his trio to finish 5th. Pat Lemieux and Cliff Heaberlin came in with what was left of the main field for 9th and 11th.

River City/Bike Law on the podium: Dan Lincoln, 1st place, Colin Gibson, 3rd place.

Overall it was a great day for RCB – Bike Law, initiating every critical move of the race, and taking two steps on the podium.
